Aloha students and friends of the Academy for Creative Media. It's that time of the year!

HAWAI'I INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The 2006 Louis Vuitton Hawai'i International Film Festival has opened with an exciting and expansive selection of films, including six by ACM student filmmakers and six by ACM-sponsored Chinese students from Shanghai University in our international Student Media Art (SMART) Exchange program. This is a tremendous opportunity for ACM students to see how film production and study is carried out by our partners in China. The Shanghai students will join us on campus for some of our activities. We should fill the seats in the theatre for the screening of their films.

HAWAIINUIAKEA FILM FESTIVAL

In conjunction with HIFF, and co-sponsored by ACM, the Hawaiinuiakea Film Festival runs Nov. 1 - 4 at the Kamakakuokalani Center for Hawaiian Studies on the UHM Campus. It will be preceded by a special panel for filmmakers on Monday, Oct. 23. Here's the calendar:

Monday Oct. 23
