ACM Update #3 - SPRING 2006
February 17, 2006

Aloha Students, Faculty and Friends of the Academy for Creative Media.

What?? Another update so soon? YES. Those opportunities just keep a-knockin':

OLELO STUDENT COMPETITION

Olelo's Third Annual Statewide Youth Xchange video competition is seeking entries.   ACM students can enter in “experts” category. Deadline for submissions is March 3. Asst. Prof. Joel Moffett is ACM's coordinator with Olelo this year. He says, “For those of you who have taken ACM310, I especially encourage you to take a look at your “Personal Statement” projects – they may fit the stipulations of the expert category perfectly. This is an excellent opportunity to get recognition for your hard work!” Get all the details at <www.olelo.org>.

ACM STUDENTS CAN SIT IN ON ACTING CLASS FREE!

Prof. Moffett also makes this offer to ACM students: “Over the next eight weeks I will be teaching an intensified Acting for the Camera Class at Pacific New Media. I am inviting all ACM students to observe this class free of charge on March 1, 8, 29 and April 5 (all Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in Sakamaki C103). If you choose to come, you must abide by the following:

-You must show up early (late-comers will not be admitted)

-You must do a physical warm up with the class

-You must remain quiet and still during the scene work, but may ask questions at the end of class

This is an extremely rare opportunity for you to get acquainted with the process of working with actors. I strongly urge you to attend.   For more information, the Pacific New Media website is <www.outreach.hawaii.edu/pnm>. I hope to see you there!”
