SMART co-Lab Bologna – Call for Entries
SMART co-Lab With International Film Academy in Italy
ACM is offering a new SMART co-Lab this year though the International Film Academy (IFA) in Bologna, Italy. The program, which takes place from June 24 – July 15, brings together advanced undergraduate and graduate students from top film programs around the world to study with master filmmakers, immerse themselves in new technologies, and participate in a top European film festival.
The IFA workshop aims to develop the students poetic and authorial identity, helps to form a future generation of film authors and provide lifelong networking with fellow students from throughout the world. Past IFA Master Teachers were: Bernardo Bertolucci (Italy), Abbas Kiarostami, (Iran), Diao Yi Nan (China), Rob Nilsson (USA), Krzysztof Zanussi (Poland), Danis Tanovic (Bosnia- Erzegovina) and Claudia Llosa (Peru).
The IFA 2017 schedule entails:
• 8 days participation at 31st Il Cinema Ritrovato Film Festival / Cineteca di Bologna, one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world specializing in restored and classic cinema: IFA considers it essential to combine the knowledge of the cinema of the past with the experiences of the present to help create the future of the moving image.
• 2 days of seminars on new technologies, financing and distribution (with experts in Virtual Reality)
• 12 days of workshops in directing led by renowned Hungarian auteur Béla Tarr
